Week 4: Picks Summary

Revised at 1:25, Tuesday morning

Well, I had another abysmal week of picks. Including the Monday Night game, I've gone 6-8. I thought I did a decent job picking games. There were a number of toss-up games and I managed to pick most of them wrong.

My record:
Week 1: 0-1
Week 2: 9-7
Week 3: 7-7
Week 4: 6-8

Total: 22 W, 23 L, 49 %

Here are the results through Week 4:
Pittsburgh 28, Cincinnati 17 L
Indianapolis 24, Jacksonville 17 W
Houston 30, Oakland 17 L
New England 31, Buffalo 17 W
Philadelphia 19, Chicago 9 W
Cleveland 17, Washington 13 L
Giants 14, Green Bay 7 L
Atlanta 27, Carolina 10 L
Arizona 34, New Orleans 10 L
Jets 17, Miami 9 W
San Diego 38, Tennessee 17 L
Denver 16, Tampa Bay 13 W
St. Louis 24, San Francisco 14 L
Kansas City 27, Baltimore 24 W

Don't feel so bad. A lot of it is luck anyway.

But here is a tip that seems to have served me well in keeping a winning record so far. ALWAYS bet against teams you know are going to do bad. Even if the Cardinals win 3 or 4 games this season, you are still going to win 12 or 13 games if you always bet against them. Betting for them every once in a while will MOST LIKELY work against you.

Also keep an eye out for big injuries. McNair was out for Tennessee. Gannon was out for the Raiders. That alone was probably enough to lose you those two games right there.

But I'm mostly full of shit anyway. Here's how it'll probably go: you'll have a really strong week next week and then start to make up for lost time. Statistically, as long as you have some idea of the good teams and the bad teams you are bound to finish at least at .500 for the season.
